Brook House stands proudly within its walled gardens in the village of Anna Valley which sits on the banks of the Pillhill Brook. The house is of local historical note, being built by a local industrialist Robert Tasker in the mid 1830’s. Since then, the house has been lived in by three families. Much of the house retains its original configuration with elegant reception rooms and a wonderful sense of space as one moves through the house. This is a fantastic family home. The front door opens into the entrance hall which leads to the centre of the house with the principal reception rooms located directly off. The drawing room with a working fireplace and a large bay window affords attractive views of the garden and is an inviting room and perfectly positioned across the entrance hall from the dining room. Two further reception rooms complete the perfect accommodation for families, which are the fantastic family room and the library which could function as an additional study. The kitchen breakfast room lies at the rear of the house with access and views onto the rear garden. The kitchen is well appointed with a large island unit, a walk-in larder and a spacious family dining area. A utility room and second study are located directly off the kitchen and there is further access to the garden and a rear staircase leading to the bedrooms. The elegant main staircase gently rises to a half landing where a large window frames a delightful view of the garden before leading onto the capacious landing. The generously sized seven bedrooms are arranged off this landing and continue the air of spaciousness felt throughout the house. The principal suite has a ensuite bathroom and dressing room and a guest bedroom also has an ensuite. The remaining bedrooms are served by a family bathroom.
Brook House sits within its delightful walled garden. A gravel driveway offers excellent parking from which one can gain direct access to a one-bedroom guest annexe with a sitting room and kitchenette and shower bathroom. Within the annexe, is a separate home office, fully equipped with high-speed broadband. The rear garden is delightful with a York Stone terrace stretching across the rear and side of the property. Mature trees stand proudly along the boundaries and there are attractive mature flower beds.
Anna Valley lies on the banks of the Pillhill Brook and is ideally positioned for those looking for a home that is extremely well connected for day-to-day life of schooling and work as well as some of Hampshire’s finest countryside. The village nestles between the villages of Upper Clatford and Abbotts Anne and is within easy reach of the market town of Andover. Stockbridge lies some 7 miles south, where walks along the Test Way can be joined and fishing on the famed River Test. The area offers some excellent schooling including Farleigh School just over 2miles away and Salisbury, offering the Grammar Schools Bishops Wordsworth for Boys and South Wilts Grammar for girls as well as Chafyn Grove and The Godolphin School, a little over 16 miles away. Transport links of both road and rail are close at hand with the A303 providing access to the West and the M3 to London. Andover Train station, 2.2 miles away, has direct services to London Waterloo, Salisbury, and the West Country. Winchester is some 19 miles east where the highly regarded Winchester College and Peter Symonds Sixth Form College are found. Many of the schools and colleges run a bus service for students either from directly outside the property or the nearby garden centre.
